Pac-Man at E3 2013
The TV show debuts, on Disney XD, on June 17, 2013. They will have a new episode every Monday and it will replay on Saturdays. The new show is titled Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures. At first, the animated show will only be available within the United States. To complement what is going on with the show, a full lineup of toys will be made available. This includes action figures, vehicles, plush, mini collectibles, and spinning arena.
In addition, Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures will be coming to Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, and a separate game being made for the 3DS. This will help feed the “hunger for thrills” and “a craving for one fun hero who has the ultimate punch.” Pac-Man will run, jump, and eat with a big appetite and a bigger adventure. He can even use his tongue to grab ghosts and burps to get the favor of young boys. The title will be out as a 3D Action Platformer in the Fall of 2013 with 1 to 4 player cooperative play and 8+ hours of gameplay for the single player mode.
The 3DS version is being developed as a standalone sidescrolling game that will have the same look as the HD--bigger-screened--version. The 3DS version will be a much easier game and be designed for a much younger audience. The larger-screened version is designed for an older audience in mind due to the higher level of difficulty.
Another Pac-Man game, Pac-Man Championship Edition DX+ is coming to PlayStation 3, Windows 8, Steam, and Xbox 360 in Late Summer 2013. This will be an updated version of Pac-Man Championship Edition and be a free upgrade to anyone who owns the original. It will come with several new maps as paid DLC. In one map shown you make the biggest line of ghosts you possibly can. Then you eat as many of them as possible. Other variations of this level will exist with a Dig Dug Theme and Rally X Theme done in the same way just with different graphics.
In addition, Pac-Man Museum is coming in Winter 2013. This is the latest product in the Namco Museum line of titles. Confirmed titles for the product include: Classic Pac-Man, Championship Edition, and Pac-Man Battle Royale is a brand new game coming from the arcade to the console for the first time. Pac-Man Museum is releasing on Steam, 3DS, Wii U, Xbox 360, and PS3.
