Pac-Man World 3
Players: 1 Player Game | Genre: Platform
By now, you most likely have seen at least one franchise thought to be dead spring to life in full 3D on Xbox, GameCube, or PS2 to satisfy nostalgic fans. (Rygar for instance) But Pac-Man, who has been an unmistakable image of gaming entertainment for over a generation, has always struggled to come back for a little more time in the spotlight. It seems there is always something lacking with each return that makes you want to bury the little guy forever. Slated for November 15th, the PSP will be hoping to help our old friend Pac-Man return to glory once again by releasing Pac-Man World 3.
With Pac-Man World 3, Namco hopes to continue in the direction paved with Pac-Man World 2. The worlds are still all about simple old school Pac-Man with a zesty twist of 3D action adventure. It is an interesting mix, and this time Pac-Man will be focusing more on his moves than puzzling world layouts. This installment revolves around Mr. Pac-Man and what he can do. A string of moves and weapons like the spin attack and electric blast will have you controlling Pac-Man in an endless possibility of scenarios, which can make for some good old-fashioned palm-sweating game play challenges.
Hopefully those challenges won't come as a result of the camera problems that were evident in Pac-Man World 2. PMW3 will have redone or greatly modified the camera while still using the same base game engine to create the worlds. Considering all other aspects seem solid, this may be the game Pac-Man has been striving for all these years.
Pac-Man World 3 will also have fan services including 3D and 2D remakes of some original Pac-Man maps, while also including the original Pac-Man game entirely. While it is being released on all next-generation systems, it seems to favor the handheld as system of choice due to its simplistic graphics and sound, while still able to dish out major game play and replayability.
