Dong Nguyen has gone from unknown to creator of the Flappy Bird phenomenom. After reaching the top of the charts on iOS and Android, Nguyen was generating over $50,000 a day in advertising income with the Free to Play title. Sadly, the game has been pulled from both Google Play and the Apple App Store due to what Nguyen said was too addictive gameplay.
Goodbye Flapppy Bird, we barely knew you.
Finally, Activision has revealed that Sledgehammer Games is the Developer of the next Call of Duty title that is rumored to be coming out this fall. Eric Hirshberg, Activision Publishing’s CEO had this to say to IGN:
“Sledgehammer is approaching this as a next-gen-first development. Obviously in the console-transition year, anyone who developed a cross-generational game last year had to deal with the fact that the technology of the next-gen platforms was still coming into focus and changing quite a bit during the development process…. Now that we have the next-gen hardware out in the marketplace and solid, that is our primary development.”
This will be the first CoD title Sledgehammer Games has developed on their own as the primary development house.
