Rumors are already circling about many unanswered question surrounding the Wii U console. One of these rumors may now be put to rest: the disk size.

Nintendo has reported that they are building a proprietary disk that will include a single layer of 25 GB. This puts it on par with a single layer Blu-ray disk–like found on the PlayStation 3 console.

We also have  discovered that the WIi U will feature at least 8 GB of internal memory, for storage purposes, and will allow users to utilize USB drives as additional storage for titles.

I must say, the lack of a Blu-ray drive is a bit disappointing to me. I really would love to see Nintendo utilize the standard for high-definition movies in its system. But since Nintendo failed to allow the original Nintendo Wii console with DVD playback, this should come as no surprise.
