Final Fantasy Failed to Make Steam

Wanting to play Final Fantasy VII and VIII on your PC via Steam? Square attempted to provide players with this but it seems the project did not go well and may never see a final release on the digital platform.
Originally, these titles came out, on the PC platform, from Eidos–which is now owned by Square Enix. A look at the backend of of Steam’s Registry shows that modifications were made to the titles so they could be sold on Steam. Sadly, the last update was in 2010 and neither Steam or Square has had any comment on the matter.
Want to play the games still? Pick them up on the PlayStation 3–via PSN–and you can play on the big screen TV or take them portable via PSP.
The only question that remains is should we call Square Squeenix or Squeidos?
