Konami revealed very few details about two new Castlevania titles in development that will be shown at this week’s E3 Conference in LA. Here is what we know.

There is a 3DS version of Castlevania in the works. This continues the long tradition of some of the best games on Nintendo’s handheld platforms. Earlier incarnations of the handheld versions saw releases on the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS. We expect to see Konami take the stage on Tuesday morning at Nintendo’s Press Event for a full rundown of details on this handheld Castlevania. I do, however, really want a 2D Castlevania on the PS Vita. Sadly, this doesn’t seem to be on the table this year.

The second Castlevania title Konami has revealed is a Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. This will see release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. Though a release on the PS Vita would make owners happy, this doesn’t seem to be planned by Konami. Sony really needs to help entice (pay $$$$$$$$$$) Konami and other Third Parties to make Vita ports of PS3 titles since it really wouldn’t be that difficult.

Though I am not sure if either title will be shown in playable form on the E3 Show Floor, Konami is hosting “Closed Door” Sessions during the week. We should be able to get you more details on these titles at least during our time with Konami at E3.
