DayZ, the mod that has made ARMA II a success years after its release, will be getting its own standalone mod. This has been heavily hinted out but nothing has been confirmed until now.

We are assured that users that have already purchased ARMA II to play DayZ will continue to get updates and be able to play the game.

DayZ will be available later this year at a heavily discounted price similar to what followed with during the distribution and development of Minecraft. Day Z also has its own website.
