PC Players, Ubisoft’s CEO Yves Guillemot is angry at you for stealing his games. At Gamescom, he had plenty to say about the PC games market.

Speaking about F2P, Yves Guillemot said: “It’s a way to get closer to your customers, to make sure you have a revenue. On PC it’s only around five to seven per cent of the players who pay for F2P, but normally on PC it’s only about five to seven per cent who pay anyway, the rest is pirated. It’s around a 93-95 per cent piracy rate, so it ends up at about the same percentage. The revenue we get from the people who play is more long term, so we can continue to bring content.”

Wait, did we hear that right? 93 to 95 percent of PC games from Ubisoft are pirated? Ubisoft has, for years, been trying to tell everyone PC gamers are thieves and place ridiculous “always on” DRM in their titles. But stating things like 93-95 percent of their games are pirated? Did they not have any sales during the recent Summer Steam Sale?

So PC players, remember what Ubisoft thinks of you: “On PC it’s only around five to seven per cent of the players who pay for F2P, but normally on PC it’s only about five to seven per cent who pay anyway, the rest is pirated.”
