Killzone Shadow Fall First Look
Publisher: Sony
Players: 1+ Player Game |
Genre: FPS
Release Date: 2013 PS4 Launch Title

Sony’s biggest, internally active, First Person Shooter franchise, Killzone was shown off at the PlayStation 4’s First Reveal Event. Like Killzone 2 was used to show off the PlayStation 3, Killzone Shadow Fall wowed and amazed with awesome visuals on the screen. What is better, Shadow Fall has been confirmed to be a launch title for the new PS4 by Guierrilla Games Senior Producer Ter Heide.
Killzone Shadow Fall, as shown at the event, takes place in a new world, with a new hero, and in a brand new situation. Set in the “very near future,” 30 years after Killzone 3, the world is far different than the one we saw last. There are now two rival factions that live side by side with a wall that separates the two. The Helghast and Vektans are on the brink of war and you play a Shadow Marshal that is charged with keeping the peace.
Questions remain: why is this not Killzone 4? Seems a bit odd for Sony to have a high-profile franchise but not continue the numbering that they have on all the other main releases. Another question that people have asked, is this another fake video like the PS3 with Killzone? This would be suicide to the PS4 brand if it ever came out as a yes.
What we do know is that the action is fast-paced with bullets zipping past you. Our hero does have some sort of ability to slow down time to take out foes. Lets not leave out the graphics. Visually this thing is just stunning and unlike any game I have seen running on even the most powerful PC with the latest video card installed.
At the end of the gameplay session, Guerrilla Games hit the Share button, on the new DualShock 4, and sent video up, that they just played, to their Facebook page within a matter of seconds. Expect to see a lot of poorly played PS4 video once the system is released to the general public.
For now, take a look at the first look video of Killzone Shadow Fall. Expect to hear more about the game as E3 2013 draws closer.
