Southpark The Stick of Truth First Look
Players: 1 Player Game |
Release Date: TBA 2013
In a world of magical farts, you are the key to saving the world. Yes, I said world of farts. Flatulence is the essence of power and you must harness this and join either Cartman, with the humans, or Stan and Kyle, with the elves, in your search for the Stick of Truth. You can, however, switch alliances at any time and join up with the others. As the “New Kid” and one labeled Dragonborn (please don’t sue them Bethesda), you will be the key piece in obtaining this artifact of power. As I mentioned already, farts are the magic of the world. One such use of farting is to “Cup-A-Spell.” Translation: You fart into your hands and throw the foul smelling bomb at enemies for a nice explosion. Smelly and satisfying. (Farting smells not included with the final game but that might make a good pre-order pack-in.)
As you play through the game, fans of the franchise will see and join up with some of their most favorite characters from the show and even direct them in combat. All characters you acquire will level up with you to help make this portion of the game easier. Nobody enjoys having to constantly swap out characters in order to level them all up individually!!
Once in combat, you will find a turn based system with timed button presses for an increase in damage. You will pick between straight up damage attacks and your magical farting abilities. However, the main character remains very quiet throughout the game. This is probably to keep you away from the comical styles and lines from the iconic Southpartk characters. However, I would like to see your character be able to speak a bit more so they feel more part of the group.
Southpark the Stick of Truth is once again coming to the PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 platforms later this year. That is unless the magical fart gasses stop it from ever coming out.
