Atlus promised us big news last week regarding Shin Megami Tensei IV and today they did not disappoint. 3DS owners who purchase SMT4 and Fire Emblem by August 31 will receive $30 in eShop credit on their 3DS. This promotion will work for retail or digital copies of the games and if you already own Fire Emblem Awakening, you are halfway to your $30 credit!

The best part is these are two of the best games on the 3DS platform so RPG fans will want to buy both anyway!

Rockstar revealed today new gameplay footage for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto V. The video even shows a hint at the multiplayer modes with more to come soon. You can see the video below:

This past weekend, some players discovered that World of WarCraft had code speaking about microtransactions within World of WarCraft. Today, Blizzard community manager Micah “Bashiok” Whipple  further clarified this via the Blizzard Forums:
“We think everyone would appreciate the convenience of being able to make such purchases without having to leave the game, and ultimately that’s our long-term goal for the system, though there’s quite a bit of work involved in retrofitting those existing items into the new system. First, we’ll be testing the in-game store with some new kinds of items we’re looking into introducing (in Asian regions, at the outset) based on player feedback: specifically, an experience buff to assist with the leveling process, as well as an alternate way to acquire Lesser Charms of Good Fortune. We’ve had a lot of requests from players in different regions for convenience-oriented items such as these, and as with other new ideas we’ve introduced as WoW has evolved—including Pet Store pets, mounts, and more—your feedback plays a hugely important part in determining what we add to the game.”

Today, Firefall, the first and third person shooter from former Blizzard vets, has left closed Beta and entered Open Beta. For those of you who haven’t been able to get into the open world, Sandbox, FPS MMO, today is the day. The game is playable solo and in a group. The game is setup so players wander the world and look for randomized events to participate in. You can also go harvest minerals and create your own world events other players can help you in.

Besides PVE content, there is also an eSports PVP and standard PVP maps. Red 5 stated:
“Gamers from all corners of the globe can now log in to the game and enter a war-scarred world to battle against the deadly and mysterious Chosen, explore every corner of New Eden, and challenge each other in fast-paced PvP combat. Players who enter the game can also take part in our dynamically-spawning ARES missions and experience the first piece of our story-driven content, ‘Blackwater Anomaly.’”

Firefall is Free to Play and definitely worth a look.
