Blizzard surprised everyone this week as they announced that on March 18, 2014, both the gold and real money auction houses will be removed from Diablo 3. Blizzard Production Director John Hight had this to say about the decision:
“When we initially designed and implemented the auction houses, the driving goal was to provide a convenient and secure system for trades. But as we’ve mentioned on different occasions, it became increasingly clear that despite the benefits of the AH system and the fact that many players around the world use it, it ultimately undermines Diablo’s core gameplay: kill monsters to get cool loot.”

In its place, Blizzard is delivering what they are calling Loot 2.0 to go alongside the closure of the Auction House and Reaper of Souls expansion to Diablo III. This will make the loot drops be of higher quality and closer to the level of the player.

Capcom is releasing a disk-based version of the WayForward developed DuckTales: Remastered for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U Platforms. The disk will retail for $19.99 and include the same content as the original digital release.

Square Enix revealed that the launch of Final Fantasy X HD and Final Fantasy X-2 HD will release this winter for both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita. The title will also allow cross-saving to go between platforms. In addition, the game will feature the “International Versions” of X and X-2–offering features that were never seen in North America.

If you preorder the game, you will get a Limited Edition Art Book and a commentary from the Development Team and Producer Yoshinori Kitase.

Monster Hunter is finally coming to the PlayStation Vita platform and we have the reveal video to show you below:

Are you planning on getting a PlayStation 4 but sad you won’t get to play PS3 games on the machine? Sony hears you and they have some news to help you. Using the Gaikai streaming service, North America users in 2014 will start to be able to play PS3 games on their PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. While no specifics on what titles will be available, Sony promises a “decent number” to be ready for its 2014 launch.

We shouldn’t expect to learn anything else until E3 2014.
