The Golf Club First Look
Publisher: HB Studios
Players: 1+ Player Game |
Genre: Sports
Release Date: 07/13/14
Want to design your own courses? The Golf Club even has a course creator to design your own courses. Set your sandtraps, number of trees, what type of environment it is in, and within a few moments, you can begin playing on your recreation of of Augusta. If creating your own courses isn’t your cup of tea, you can also download other creations from users. This gives the community a Little Big Planet feel. If you are looking for a real creation of Augusta or other courses, don’t hold your breath. The Golf Club doesn’t have any officially licensed courses. However, the user generated content more than makes up for this.
HB Studios promises to continue adding more audio content with their commentary system so it will stay fresh as the game ages on the market. Their voice over work is all done in house and so it is not necessary to bring outside talent to update the dialogue within the game. The only negative to their commentary system is they only have a single person doing the voice work so there is not a two man team commentating on the action.
This is a realistic golf simulation. Don’t expect to have any of the wild and zany action Mario Golf offers. If you are slightly off, in your swing, you may find yourself several strokes behind the leaders. This is what makes a simulation golf game fun though.
The Golf Club is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One soon with the PC available on Steam Early Access now. While the hope is to get the game out on consoles before July 13, and the start of the British Open, this may not be possible. The game will be out by at least Fall 2014. If you are looking for a good gold simulation, there isn’t anything better than The Golf Club out there now.
