M3: My Morning Musings – 3DS King, Toad Amiibo, Jason Coming, & More

The 3DS XL, fueled by the release of The New Nintendo 3DS XL, moved 395,000 units in the US to become the best selling piece of gaming hardware for the month of February 2015. PlayStation 4 moved the most home console pieces to be the second best selling console in North America.
For software, the top 10 were:
1. The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D (3DS) (515,000 copies sold digitally and physically)
2. Evolve (Xbox One, PS4, PC)
3. Dying Light (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
4. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, PC)
5. Grand Theft Auto V (PS4, Xbox One, 360, PS3)
6. NBA 2K15 (PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360)
7. Dragon Ball: Xenoverse (PS4, Xbox One, PS3, 360)
8. Minecraft (360, PS3, Xbox One, PS4)
9. The Order: 1886 (PS4)
10. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS) (290,000 copies sold digitally and physically)
For Friday the 13th, you may think of Horror movies and lots of blood. For Tekken 7, in order to stay away from a Mature Rating, the game will features Dirt, Water, and Sweat! Bandai Namco’s upcoming fighter, for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, currently has no release date. However, this Unreal Engine 4 fighter should get an release announcement in a few months at E3 2015.
On March 20, we will see the release of the new Super Mario Bros amiibo series and Mario Party 10 for the Wii U. This biggest of these amiibo will be the one featuring Toad and has proven to be the hardest one to preorder. If you are able to get your hands on Toad, you will find an update to Captain Toad Treasure Tracker that will put you on a hunt to find a pixelated Toad character in the levels. Just for Friday the 13th, Mortal Kombat X reveals that Jason Voorhees joins as a playable DLC character. Freddy Krueger was in MK9 so will he be returning to X as well? The new MK game will come out on April 14 for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and the DLC will be part of the Kombat Pack. Predator and Spawn are also characters rumored to be included in the Kombat Pack.
