E3 2017 Best of Show
E3 2017 has now come and gone. Here at CVGame, and our Parents Press Play Podcast, we have seen a ton of great content coming in the form of sequels and prequels. At the same time, we have also seen a rise in a lot of new IP. After spending a week in Los Angeles to see the best that the game industry has to offer, I have selected my E3 2017 Best of Show.
First, a little bit about these awards. I don’t name an Overall Best of Show award and haven’t done that for many years. Instead, I list games in no particular order. These titles are what I find to be especially unique and interesting based on my extensive experience in the industry and personal tastes.
This year, my list includes seven titles. There were five other titles that fell short of being honored this year and while I give myself the flexibility to include more titles, I usually don’t extend it past seven.
Super Mario Odyssey
Nintendo Switch
Nintendo
Moonlighter
11 bit studios S. A.
Digital Sun
Ni no Kuni 2 Revenant
Bandai Namco
Level 5
Spider-Man
Sony
Insomniac Games
Vampyr
Focus Interactive
DONTNOD Entertainment
Battle Chasers: Nightwar
THQ Nordic
Airship Syndicate
Unannounced Paradox Game
(Solves a need unlike any company before)
Paradox
Developer withheld
(Full reveal of this title will be made on June 21)
To hear my full explanation for each title, you can listen to the Parents Press Play & Friends E3 2017 Best of Show podcast I recorded. You can listen to it, in your browser, or download it below.
It was an honor attending E3, and covering the show, for the 20th time. While I am exhausted from the busy week, I am eager to continue releasing more coverage for the show. Look for more articles outlining the experiences I had during the week in the coming days. We also look forward to bringing you more interviews with Developers in the coming weeks about the games we saw.
Thanks again for all your support and we look forward to continuing our coverage of the industry for you.

Kaleb started Parents Press Play to begin podcasting and reaching a more casual segment of the world that tends to have coverage dominated by by "Hardcore," or "Core players. CVGames still exists to cover that section of users.
Combining CVGames and Parents Press Play together, Kaleb created CVGN: The Covering Video Games Network. While world domination is unlikely, our passionate team continues to strive to inform the different audiences with content we are passionate about.
