Are Games too Addictive?
I’ll say this right off the bat: I love video games. They’re a great diversion, they’re rewarding, and best of all, they’re fun. Video games keep me entertained, giving me something to do during my Washington state winters, where by the time I get home from school, it’s dark all ready.
I am a Zelda Mark
I’m a Pro Wrestling fan. As such, I have a knowledge of certain terminology pro wrestlers use. One such word is “mark,” which describes a devout fan in not so glowing terms. In other words, if you really get into wrestling, you are a wrestling mark. It’s really not a bad term. It’s even become one that I use on myself from time to time.
Brothers Discuss E3 2002
E3 is an amazing experience. Every year, the real greatest show on Earth dazzles industry insiders with games, girls and a whole lot of cool little lighting effects. This year, Keith and I decided to share some of our opinions about the show. We originally intended to have this article done shortly after E3, but well, we’re just too lazy.
Developers Speak Out: SkyGunner
At E3 2002, I had the opporuntiy to meet Bill Alexander from Atlus. He was kind enough to sit down with us and discuss several topics–including the upcoming SkyGunner.
The Joy of Price Wars
The great thing about having three heavy competitors in a video game market is that each on will generally do whatever it takes to come out first. This can mean a lot of good things. For one, you tend to have really good games coming out exclusively for each system. Secondly, you have everybody biting at the online gaming bit.
Xbox Live: MS Savior or Console Destroyer?
Ever since the first Xbox announcement from Bill Gates at GDC, I began to imagine what developers would do with the mighty hardware Microsoft was giving them.
E3 2002 Wrap-Up
E3 2002 is finally over and gaming is moving rapidly into a dangerous place… ports. Everywhere you looked, there was a port. Developers are porting their games on to as many systems as possible. While at first glance this may appear as a good thing, it leaves only a few exclusive titles.
Xbox Live at E3 2002
Today at E3 2002 Microsoft became the first video game company ever to announce a comprehensive online game service fully dedicated to fast-action, always-connected broadband gaming experiences.
E3 2002: Here we come!
Each year a select few get the opportunity to put their hands on the hottest upcoming titles. The whole gaming industry joins these select few in downtown LA during the E3 show.
What is Square Thinking?
I think Square is making a huge mistake with Final Fantasy XI. According to my calculations, to play that game just for the first year it will cost over $200. Now I don’t know about you, but with all of my other games I pay fifty bucks just one time and I get to play the game as long as I want and as much as I want for no extra money.
